About My Prayer Corner

Our Why

We are messy believers providing simple tools to children and parents so they can know Jesus as their best friend,
discover the transformative simplicity of prayer, and joyfully strive to become saints.

My Prayer Corner offers formation for families to help them know Jesus and bring prayer back into the home.

Prayer starts with knowing that Jesus is your best friend. However, too many people have gone through life without ever developing a deeply personal relationship with Jesus. Many adults do not feel like they have a solid prayer life.  By the time they’re raising children, they don’t even know where to begin developing that relationship or teaching their kids how to pray. It can feel overwhelming, but My Prayer Corner is here to change that.

We provide programs that offer simple prayers, tasks, and experiences for children so that they can fully engage in developing a relationship with Christ and even lead their family in prayer. We believe that the innocent faith and curiosity of children is contagious, and as they start knowing Jesus and growing in their faith, the whole family follows, and everyone has the opportunity to learn and grow together.

Prayer can change the world. With My Prayer Corner, we provide the tools your children, your family, and maybe even you need to no longer feel overwhelmed by prayer time, so that you can rediscover the joyful simplicity of prayer and come to know Jesus as your best friend.  My Prayer Corner allows you to come as you are and really transform your life.  Even if you feel like you are a prayer veteran, My Prayer Corner will give you tools to teach your children and tools to allow you to relearn some basics and go deeper in your prayer life.

Our Core Beliefs

Know who you are

We believe in the incredible, God-given dignity of every human person. The sign of the cross is more than a symbol of faith, it is your last name. You are part of God’s family and He has called you by name. When children and parents know and embrace their identity, they become raging lights of the Holy Spirit and can help spark the same light in others. There is no greater source of confidence than knowing that you are Christ’s and Christ is yours.

Let the little ones come

The innocent faith and honesty of children are a model for us to follow. Kids are incredibly curious and far more capable than we often assume. When presented with Truth and Goodness, children intuitively grasp it with a deep sense of wonder that ignites a desire for more. Every question a child asks is an opportunity to grow together in faith and relationship with Christ.

Start with the basics

We have a rich tradition of beautiful prayers, but at the end of the day they’re all intended to help us experience the unconditional love of God. Saying the words of memorized prayer is good, but meaning them with the knowledge that you are speaking to your best friend transforms hearts. When we consistently help children understand that God uniquely and personally loves them, and wants a real relationship with them, it builds the foundation for a life of faith, hope, and love.

Everything begins with love

We believe that when a family experiences God’s love it changes everything. When a child encounters the love of God they find safety and comfort, and when they have that security, the journey toward sainthood becomes an adventure. Children in turn become a witness to their parents and peers of the peace and joy of being children of the Father. When children and parents alike know the love of God they turn to Him first before reacting to frustrations, and the entire family dynamic is transformed. Annoyances become opportunities for sacrifice, virtues are strengthened, your heart is open to more grace, and over time every action begins to start with love.

Tiny prayers move mountains

Prayer should be a source of life, not stress. So often and with the best intentions, we try to do too much and end up praying too little. Holiness isn’t measured by the number of rosaries your family has prayed together, or whether or not you managed to fit in your 20 minutes of silent prayer time each day. Holiness is simply the extent to which we have been mindful of our relationship with God throughout each day. When we turn little tasks into a prayer, or take a moment when we’re angry to ask for guidance, or just simply pause and say the name of Jesus, we slowly find that even the tiniest of prayers can move mountains.

God first in every decision

God is present in every part of our day, and in every part of our day He wants us to know that He loves us. When we brush our teeth, look out a window, or want to yell at one of our kids for drawing on the wall, God is there. When this becomes the focus of how we navigate our lives, suddenly whatever our day or the world throws at us takes on a new context. It doesn’t mean it isn’t hard, it doesn’t mean it won’t be frustrating, it means we are never alone. There may not be a voice, it may not be in the way we expect, but we can move forward in faithful, fearless confidence that God is there to help us in every moment.

The time is now

The people of the world are struggling, and we need to provide simple tools to help. So many people look like they have it all together, but are struggling to teach and form their kids and themselves. Getting back to the basic truths of our faith may seem overly simple or weird, but we love simplicity and we love weird. Now more than ever, we need to make prayer and the truths of our faith accessible, so that parents and grandparents can pass on a lifelong journey of faith to the next generation.

The people of the world are struggling,
and we need to provide simple tools to help.
